Learn by Doing
We are practitioners by trade, not academics, trainers, or consultants (until now). Our approach fits with who we are professionally and how we have led our own organizations.
First Contact: Regardless of how we initially meet, the first step is to discuss the issues you face, the problem that you are trying to solve, and agree that we can help. This usually takes the form of a phone conference with key people.
On-Site Assessment: One or two of us visit your site for approximately 4 to 7 days. Key themes and recommendations are delivered in an interactive closeout session. Within a week to ten days, you receive a concise written report. You can choose to proceed with MCG, implement yourself, or with a different partner.
Kickoff/ Orientation: We have a short orientation session tuned to practice. It quickly communicates the targets, the underlying principles and intent to the people involved. There are no thick books, long PowerPoint presentations, and no cups, banners, or t-shirts. Because of our relationship with MIT Executive Education, we can also help connect you to other world-class business educational resources.
Initial Implementation: MCG is fundamentally a practitioner group, not a training group. Every employee and Partner consults. We use concise training, measured in hours, not days, in order to get to implementation quickly and deliver results. MCG provides resources to support, lead, or coach your people, so that your organization maintains the initiative. MCG Consultants and Partners have all led these changes in our own businesses, so especially in the initial phase; we are able to transfer a tremendous amount of practical knowledge.
Advanced Implementation: Gradually, the new skills integrate with your company language and culture, combining it with competencies you already have, yielding a sustainable change. As this happens, it influences the way the leadership operates. We work with executive leadership to improve target setting, accountability, alignment of activity sets, issue resolution, and effective organizational learning.
Ongoing coaching and support: As the issues you tackle get more complex, we maintain a coaching relationship as long as desired to ensure that your progress and learning continues.
